Hi fellow student of the wonderful world of a never ending fascination of networks. I dont feel like i have the right to post a comment but as part of my responsibility in this open source information and the responsibiliy of every IT engineer to share whatever knowledge we can share for the development of the IT field and of mankind itself, I would grab this opportunity if you will let me.
To my beloved mentor Sir Joseph Yamit, thank you so much for your help in making me what I am today. The opportunity of learning new things each and everyday in this fascinating world of networking.Yes, I have that chance. It was made possible because of CCNA and experience. Anyway, I would like to share something that had been very obvious but not all of us had been utilizing well, the usage of internet. I noticed on your blogs that you had been talking about servers, clients, cables and stuff. I also noticed that you are mixed up with the jargons and terminologies. To make you understand something more about the fascinations of networking, I ask of you to do the following. Get on the internet and use google, not yahoo and search for the free downloads of the cisco press ccna study guides. Once you start reading it, there is one request that I ask of you, honesty. Be honest to yourself. When you start reading this book, I know you will not understand the contents of the book. Which I presume is the reason why, instead of reading the ccna curriculum you end up surfing over the internet, browsing over friendster. :-) I also did that before. Well, my advise is do not be discouraged. It is normal not to understand the contents of ccna on your first glance. Read the contents again, and I know the time spent in the laboratory for reading the web curriculum is lacking that is why I ask you to download the free soft copy of cisco press and read them at home as well. Guys, here is a promise that I can tell you once you will understand CCNA and I know you will, there are so many oppurtunities that could open up for you. Starting October of 2007, the need for network engineers until 2020 will be reaching 20 million. How can that be possibly exhausted? Just try to imagine a country with the majority are IT engineers and become a part of that population. Wouldn`t it be great?! That is why guys, as early as now, please study Cisco, once your done with it never ever stop. Study MCP as well and once your done with it, study Linux then. The terms might be scary but I tell you it is not. It is so interesting. Here is a universal truth in becoming an engineer, it is a career of never ending learning and studying. Once you have embraced this truth then I know a bright future is ahead of you. As for me here, I will not tell any specifics for myself, Sir Yamit, I hope we can keep in touch, I have so many plans to improve our IT skills, I would like to keep in touch with you coz I know we can make a difference in the future to build not only Davao but the philippines into an IT outsourcing country. Sir, hope you can e-mail me, coz I cant find your e-mail add. I have met so great filipino guys working with me who are good and brilliant and am willing to help in this IT advocacy. One last word for my fellow IT peers, which you will always be using remember this 3 letters becuase everything comes back to this OSI. master it!
